In my travels around the Internet I have come across several "packs" of icons; some in ".ico" format and some in ".png" format and occasionally some in ".jpg" format. These packs have no ".ip, .theme, or .incl" files included and thus they cannot be installed as a package with IconPackager. What I am wanting to know is how can I create a package with these icons that is IconPackager friendly? I am hoping for a little more in an answer than, "Use xxxx program". Some general step-by-step instructions to go with the recommendation would be more than appreciated.

Open IconPackager > View (menubar) > Package Builder. Select Icons and Cursors, and start building your package. Keep in mind you can only use ICO files with IconPackager. PNG, and JPG will not work.

Probably a good idea to save your work in progress as go along, just in case.

I just got around to giving this a try and immediately ran into an ignorance blockage. I clicked on "View" and then "Package Builder" but nothing happened, i.e., nothing that I can see that would allow me to view a set of "non-IPtheme" icons so as to choose them, etc.

I currently have 2 folders with these non-IP sets which are all .ico files. I can view them with the "Icon Explorer". But how to convert them into an ".icl" file with the required ip.theme escapes me. Would you or someone care to indulge me here and tell me what I am not doing and/or should do?

Are you using the latest "Enhanced version" of IconPackager?

Yes.... I have the lastest version and build. I think I have it sorted out; I think! If I am understanding this right, I have to click on "New" and then right-click an icon and then "Change icon". Then browse to the folder where the individual icons are that I want to use and select one. When I am done with doing this, I click "Save". And this will automatically create the "iptheme" and "icl" files.

So, in short, I have to add (substitute) each icon individually from a folder that contains the icons I want to use to create a new IP file?
