When I reboot my XP (SP-2) machine, everything loads as it should UNTIL I start "Styler Toolbar 1.38". I only have "Styler Toolbar" and not the full program. When the program starts, the Taskbar goes black and the Clock changes display, e.g., from 3 lines to one line. To fix this, I have to unload WindowBlinds, restart it and apply the skin. After that, everything works fine. I've removed Styler from Startup and tried starting it manually after everything else has loaded and I still get the same problem.

Any ideas what the problem is and suggestions for a fix?

THANKS!

It sounds like that app is requesting theme changes incorrectly.

Neil, thanks for the incredibly fast reply!! Any suggestions as to what I might do to fix this? or do you suspect that the problem is inherent in Styler Toolbar itself and thus cannot be changed by me?

I thought I would share how I have resolved my problem with Styler Toolbar killing WindowBlinds on startup so that if anyone else in the future experiences this problem, they can try the information below  as one thing they can do and perhaps resolve it.

The "fix" seems to have been to start the "Theme" service and set it to "Automatic". This particular service I had stopped and and set to "Disabled" quite some time back since it isn't needed when using WindowBlinds and if you don't intend to use the default Windows "Luna" theme. But apparently, it has to be running for Styler to load correctly on startup.

I've rebooted several times now and Styler loads without effecting WindowBlinds. So, at this point, I am considering this issue RESOLVED!!

DIGITZMAN

That would apply ONLY if one has the FULL "Styler" program. It does not apply when someone is using just the "Styler Toolbar" since the "Themes" section is disabled. As I wrote above, my particular problem was caused by the "Theme Service" being disabled.
